Dear friends!
It’s now been two weeks since the campaign ended successfully, two weeks we’ve needed to recuperate from what was an incredibly exciting ride. You are all amazing and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!
We are currently working on getting the official thank-you page up on our website (there’s a lot of you!). Some of the other perks (except for the finished film and game of course) will be ready for delivery in September, and to be able to send them to you we’ll need get back to you and ask for your addresses and emails and other contact information. If you have any issues with the name list, or have other questions, please contact us.
We have started to prepare the first part of the shooting, which will take place at the end of August, and we’re right now preparing the locations, casting, camera equipment and the storyboard.
On August 21 it’s time for international GRANNYDAY and the first exhibition in which all the granny-stories we’ve collected will be included will take place August 15 to September 9 at Form and Design Center in Malmö, Sweden.
You can still include your granny by uploading a picture and a short story about her at http://granniverse.com/include-your-granny/ and read the stories we’ve received athttp://granniverse.com/category/granny/. Spread the word, we want to hear from all of you!
We’ll keep you updated of the process through Kickstarter, but to get more frequent updates follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/grannysdancing) or on Twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/grannysdancing). Don’t forget the hashtag #granniverse!
It’s time to sail over the ocean!
Lots of love and thanks from the whole Granny-team!

WOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!! YOU DID IT!!
Yes, YOU DID it!! 24 hours left and we just passed 50,000. OMG! You are changing history. We are 842 people who belive that we are strong togehther. That many people together can make a difference. A big difference. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
This is a dream coming true! I’m touched. I’m honoured.I’m thrilled! I’m greatful. This is a truly unforgettable moment! To be able to work freely with Creative Commons, to be able to share the work I do with everyone, and invite everyone to be part of the creation.
And of course, to be able to tell this story. Because I have to tell it. Because it’s about belonging. Thank you for letting me belong to you and thank you for belonging to Granniverse. And THANK YOU for letting Granniverse come true!!!
This is the beginning of something really amazing. More than 850 people have funded a movie, which will be released for free. You are giving away a film for free to the world! What a gift. I do believe that this is incredibly important. For real.
There are some more fantastic people who have made this kickstarter campaign possible, without them this would not have happened.
Helene Granqvist – the producer. I met Helene three years ago when I were in the middle of the shooting of Nasty Old People. She believed in what I’m doing from the beginning, and she believed in Granny’s Dancing on The Table, from the first line in the script, all the way through dark and bright moments and all the way through this campaign. Without her there would be no script, no pilot and no kickstartercampaign. Helene is magical.
Bobbi Augustine Sand and Karin Ryding. I met them two years ago, when they started to develop the game. We have been confused together many times, had breakthroughs, dark and fantastic moments, but all the time they just kept believing in Granniverse. And I just love them because they are truly inspiring and wonderful people!
Finnur Sverrisson, Richard Topgaard, Petter Mårtensson, Alinah Helsingand Linus Bohman has been working with the homepage, with the communication and they have been telling me that I have to be more clear in my communication. And they are of course right. And I thank them so much for their wonderful work!
And of course there is a whole team with cinematographer, animatior, graphic designer, sound designer, composer, set designer interaction designer, and so on and so on.. who are all behind Granniverse.
SO NOW!
Now we will start to prepare for the first part of the shooting and there are many things to come, and many many ways in which you will be able to take part in creating this film and this story universe. Many of you have already started, by tellig your granny-stories. You can still tell your Granny-story at granniverse.com and keep yourself updated at www.facebook.com/grannysdancing
Lots of love and peace and smiels and thanx!!!!!!!!

Hanna Sköld really wants to hear your granny story. Today she decided to hit the road and where do stories live? Indeed in the library. We contacted the wonderful people at the library of Rosengård in Malmö, Sweden. A neighborhood that is known for it’s many cultures.
Her first interview was with the writer Sahgul. He shared a very powerful story while the news crew from Sydnytt came over and filmed their material for the local evening news, that will air tonight at 19:15 (we’ll post the link when it has aired).
The library in Rosengård is an amazing place that celebrates people from all the cultures in town. A small library that has over 100 visitors/hour. The have a special room just for playing chess (which was full the whole time we were there. A café called “Språkcafét” = Language café, where people come for coffee and cake and learn swedish together.
It oozes with life and laughter here and we recommend anyone to visit!
Thank you Rosengårds Library!

Today we have put some concept art for the game Below – also a part of this universe – up at the Granniverse page! We’d also like to share these images with you! Tell us what you think!!
Concept Art – The Town
Below is a psychological adventure game for the iPad, telling the story about the town Eini arrives to when she runs away from home at the age of 17. The people in the town have become isolated by their fear of anything that might cause disturbance and ruin the order – like a dancing granny and the cracks that can appear when a small earthquake occurs.
Concept Art – The Family Tree
The player takes on the role of a spirit bird – a raven – with the power to enter people’s minds and affect their thoughts. By making choices and solving puzzles the player will help the game characters start believing in their dreams, and make the town come to life again!
Concept Art – Gameplay
We want to create a beautiful and truly meaningful game experience! And thanks to all the support we’re getting and the dedication in this team, we can make this happen!!!
Love from the whole Granny Team!

So, please help us spread the word! For 1000 USD our fantastic animator Daniel Svensson will make an animation of YOU and include you in the film. He will make a puppet looking like you, and you’ll be one of the guests at the party when Granny dances on the table!!! Let your friends know and spread it in your networks, and we’ll kick ass together!!!
